Ailsa Jackson appointed President of the American Board of Toxicology
Congratulations to TSG Consulting’s Ailsa Jackson, BSc, DABT, who has been appointed President of the American Board of Toxicology (ABT). The ABT is a globally-recognized credentialing organization that strives to identify, maintain, and evolve standards for professional competency in the field of toxicology. Ailsa will serve a one-year term.
A Diplomate of ABT, Ailsa previously served as Vice President from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021. She also has a BSc degree in Biological Sciences and holds memberships to the Royal Society of Biology, the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and the American College of Toxicology.
“I am delighted and honored to serve as the President of the ABT this year,” says Ailsa. “Being a Diplomate and, more recently, serving on the Board of Directors have expanded my horizons within the field of toxicology, as well as my international network of colleagues.” During her year as President, Ailsa’s main focus will be the transition from a pencil-and-paper exam format to an electronic format with multiple centers around the world, as well as promoting the international reach of the qualification. “I am looking forward to an exciting and fruitful year!” she continues.

Ailsa is Senior Toxicology Consultant at TSG Consulting, specializing in the toxicology of plant protection products and pesticides. With 28 years’ experience in safety assessment, her career spans appointments as study director and manager of general toxicology at various contract research laboratories in the UK and Switzerland, a scientific and specialist role supporting the chemical and crop protection industries, and a senior human health regulatory toxicology position in the agrochemical industry.
